Even during a time of slow economic growth Google is posting better than expected revenues for the first quarter. Two recently released reports show that advertisers are still flocking to the Internet and to Google in particular. The search engine advertising management company, Searchignite (Search Ignite) reports that the first quarter showed strong increases in ?search marketing? spending.
In their April 2008 report, Searchignite warns that the there were ?signs of weakness towards? the end of the quarter. They also report that Google lost a little market share to Yahoo the first quarter of 2008 compared to last year (YoY). The company suggests this could be because ?Yahoo experienced a particularly weak Q1 2007 with the delay of their Panama launch?.
