UK broadband users unhappy with service

British broadband users are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with their service, according to new data from regulator Ofcom, with 40% saying they are likely to switch provider over the coming year.

In its second annual consumer experience report published yesterday, Ofcom found that respondents who claimed to be ‘very satisfied’ or ‘fairly satisfied’ with the overall service from their broadband supplier has dipped from 92% last year to 88% this year.

The percentage of respondents characterising themselves as ‘very satisfied’ with the reliability of their service, meanwhile, reduced from 45% to 37%. Respondents who said they were ‘very satisfied’ with the value for money of their broadband service dropped from 33% last year to 26%.
