According to Web User ISPs belonging to the London Internet Exchange have agreed to tackle e-commerce websites run by spammers.
According to LINX, spammers tend to host a website with one ISP but use a different ISP to send traffic. Up to now ISPs could remove email and internet access for spammers using their network, but under new anti-spam policies ISPs can now also target website owners even when the site owner uses a third party to send the spam.
LINX is also calling on ISPs to take down websites used to sell spamming tools, such as CD-ROMs containing millions of email addresses.
